The Controversial Case of Nike And The Devilish Shoes With Human Blood

The art collective MSCHF who works for fine arts designed the shoe in collaboration with rapper Lil Nas X which was priced at $ 1,018 (approximately 75 thousand rupees), this shoe was actually a modified version of the Nike Air Max 97s, which also used the Pentagram and cross, the sacred symbol of Christians. Around 666 such shoes were manufactured and sold out. But a drop of human blood was also used in the soles of these shoes.

Nike which is an international brand that makes footwear and sports goods, has won the controversial case of ‘devilish shoes’ against the art collective MSCHF in Brooklyn on the same.

Why and where did Nike file a lawsuit?

The MSCHF and its unauthorized diabolical shoes can cause confusion and misconceptions about MSCHF’s products and Nike due to which Nike filed a lawsuit in the Federal Court of New York, calling it an infringement of its trademark, and demanded MSCHF to stop selling the shoes and use its logo ‘Swoosh’. At the same time, the lawyer appearing on behalf of MSCHF said that the 666 pair of shoes are not ‘common shoes but it is an art personally made which was sold to those who saved it for $ 1,018’.

The judgement came in favour of Nike; the Federal Judge on Thursday issued a temporary order to stop it as on this shoe, ‘Luke 10:18’ is also written, which is a verse of the Bible. Every shoe also has a Nike sign. Human black blood drops have also been used in these black-red shoes which were donated by the members of MSCHF Art Collective.

What will be the effect of this order is not clear because MSCHF has indicated that it has no plans to make more such shoes.

Where did the controversy start?

In a case filed in the US District Court of the Eastern District of New York, Nike said that it had not given any permission to manufacture the devil shoes exclusively and also mentioned that there is a lot of evidence of confusion and infamy in the market. The boycott of Nike is being demanded due to the devilish shoes of the MSCHF, it has become a misconception that Nike has approved this product.

Many devout people, including Conservative Governor Christie Noam of South Dakota, objected to the disputed shoes and criticized Lil Ness X and MSCHF. After this, Lil Ness X responded to twitter on the governor and many critics, tweeted many memes on Nike’s lawsuit.

Geoff Resh, who lives in Tennessee, spent $ 1,080 to buy these shoes, now he fears his money will be drowned by the controversy. He told the BBC that he thought if he had spent the money for this, he would get them. He said that he thought of wearing these shoes as a political statement. He said, “I wanted to support a black man who has tried to show a different story in a majority Christian country where black people are facing a lot of problems. So buying shoes made by that person what could be better than that? “

Mackenzie Norris, a South Carolina buyer, has long followed the MSCHF Art Collective.

He says that because of this lawsuit, his plan to sell these shoes on eBay for $ 2,500 has fallen into disarray as it has been removed from his list there. He says, “In simple terms, this case of Nike and their interference is absurd because of how much harm it would do to ordinary people like me who make things like these and sell them legally.”
