The world’s most prestigious Time magazine has released the list of 100 most influential celebrities of the year 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again been included in the list, while the name of 82-year-old grandmother Bilkis has become the identity of the Shaheen movement. Apart from this, the names of film actor Ayushman Khurana, US President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping are included.
Every year, this list is released by Time magazine, which includes people influencing the world while working in different fields. Professor Ravindra Gupta, who played a key role in getting HIV free from a patient last year in London, has also been included in this list. That patient from London is the second patient in the world who has become HIV free.
Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai have also been included in Time magazine’s 100 influential people.
About PM Modi, Time has written in its magazine article that he is the largest in a democracy, which has got as many votes. There are many aspects of democracy in which the rights of those who have not voted for the winning leaders are also talked about. India is the largest democracy in the world and people of every religion live here.
The magazine has written in its article that the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power on the promise of employment and many controversies followed. Time magazine editor Carl Vick wrote, “It is all in India that the Dalai Lama, who spent most of his life as a refugee, has cited examples of harmony and stability. Narendra Modi has put all these in doubt. Most of the Prime Ministers of India come from a Hindu community with around 80 per cent of the population, but only Modi is the one who ruled as if nothing else mattered to him. ”
He further wrote, “Narendra Modi came to power with the popular promise of empowerment but his Hindu nationalist party BJP rejected not only excellence but pluralism especially the Muslims of India. A very serious pandemic became a means of suppressing dissatisfaction for the BJP. And the world’s most vibrant democracy is engulfed in darkness. ” Significantly, during the Lok Sabha elections, Time magazine described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the ‘Divider in Chief’ of India.
Time magazine places 100 of the world’s most influential people in its magazine. This time around two dozen leaders have been included in it. It also includes the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is the only Indian leader whose name has been included in the list.
