Have You Been to Punjapura Ghat Near Indore ?

You might have come across a lot of suggestions from people, most of them telling you to visit the same and crowded places in Indore, when you have asked any of them about a place, where you can go to on Saturday or Sunday, away from the hectic crowds and places that are swarmed by people on weekends. So, what could be a place, where you could have a drive of your life, without even leaving the vicinity of Indore? Well, welcome to the land of Punjapura, hardly 65 kms of drive from Indore and each kilometer of it is going to blow your brains out, especially in monsoons.

The above picture was snapped after two rainfalls this city witnessed and it turned the godly lands of Punjapura Ghat to heavens. This place is going to cuddle you like a mother, if you are a child craving for natural beauty. The best part of this place is it is still protected from people who drink and leave bottles in the open, who make sure to leave the place in such a bad condition, that it makes it impossible for people to even stand and enjoy the beauty of it.

Punjapura Ghat can be reached by taking the bypass, which heads to MHOW. After driving for a while, you have to take the cut on the left that leads to “Devguradiya” and from there on, all you have to do, is drive. There are no cuts, no turns, no ugly surprising potholes, nothing! The road is amazing, which will even make you doubt that whether you are in Indore, or in some other city.

So what separates Punjapura from the plethora of options you have in and around the city? The first reason is the silence this place envelops you with. When you drive in the road, which is surrounded by acres and acres of thick plantation of teak trees that just never seem to end,  all you hear is the fine sound of fresh air, caressing your hair and skin and making you believe that finally you have found a place, that lets you live the nature at its fullest. There are scenic little water falls along the way and they are at their peak in the monsoon. The place is also a paradise for photographers, as it offers dozens of breathtaking views in the course of 65 kms and you will have ample of reasons to fill the card of your Camera.

There are total of 3 main Ghats in the section and they are VAST. You will find villages at two main intersections and the rest of the way is quite secluded and empty.

Planning a monsoon drive with your friends or loved one? This should be it!
