    Today Prime Minister Modi will be inaugurating Asia’s biggest solar power plant in Rewa MP through video conferencing, which the government has said will reduce emission equivalent to approximately 15 lakh tonne of carbon dioxide every year. Here are some of the facts that you should know about this project:-

    • This project has the capacity to generate 750 MW of energy.
    • This project consists of 3 solar generation units of each capacity of 250 MW, located in the area of 500 Hectares.
    • This project is the first solar project in the country to break the grid parity barrier.
    • It is estimated that this project will reduce the carbon emission by 15 lakh tons of Co2 Per Year.
    • This project is the first project to receive funds from the Clean Technology of India.
    • This project received World’s Bank Group President award for “Innovation and Excellence”.
    • It is also the first renewable energy project to supply to an institutional customer outside the state to “Delhi Metro” which will get 24% energy from the project.
    • This Project was developed by Rewa Ultra Solar Limited, a Joint Venture of Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited and Central Government-run Solar Energy Corporation Limited of India.
    • This project secured the mention in the book “New Beginning” released by the Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi.
    • This Process of reverse auction in bidding for the project was tried for the first time in India under this project.
