    From Business Class to Modern Facilities, India’s First Rapid Rail is Out!

    The country’s first rapid rail look is going up, the speed will be 180 KM per hour. The nature of India’s public transport is now changing. The first look of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) train has been revealed to the public on Friday.

    First look of train unveiled

    Durga Shankar Mishra, Secretary, Union Housing and Urban Development Ministry, unveiled the first look of India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) train on Friday (September 25, 2020). During this time Vinay Kumar Singh, Managing Director of National Capital Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and members of the board of NCRTC were also present. Senior officials of the Ministry, NCRTC and Bombardier Inc. were also present on the occasion. The RRTS train with a design speed of 180 kmph is the first modern system of its kind in India.

    These aerodynamic trains made of stainless steel will be lightweight and fully air-conditioned. Each coach will have six (three on each side) automatic doors for entry and exit, while business class coaches will have four (two on each side) doors.

    Apart from business class, this facility will also be available

    Each train will have a business class coach to promote public transport. A food dispensing machine will also be installed inside the business class coach. RRTS trains have 2×2 transverse comfortable seats, enough room to seat passengers (Legroom), enough space in between the seats on both sides for comfortable traveling by standing passengers, luggage rack, mobile / laptop charging There will also be sockets, Wi-Fi and other passenger-centric facilities.

    This train is inspired by the Lotus Temple of Delhi

    The design of RRTS trains is inspired by the iconic Lotus Temple of New Delhi. The Lotus Temple is a symbol of an energy-efficient building, as its design maintains the natural flow of light and air. Similarly, the RRTS train will also have a light and temperature control system that will give passengers a comfortable experience despite the reduced energy consumption. The RRTS train equipped with modern facilities will be a unique combination of new age technology and India’s rich heritage.
