Some people don’t wait for the future. One such story of a boy started in 1987, with a vision to make tea our best friend and develop a local taste by serving the mass with multiple varieties.

Mr. Ashwin Mehta, at the age of 22, started the business of Sanan tea consumer products. He wanted to mark an edge in this industry. His father was a teacher with no intention to tap into the field of doing business. Being self-motivated and opposite of that, he preferred to advance his skills in entrepreneurship.

The journey began in 1987 from their home in a room of 100sq ft which shifted to a warehouse purchased by them in 1995, an area of 1500sq ft. In 2002 they set up a factory which amounts to an area of 10acres with a family of more than 120 laborers and 30 staff members. Currently, they have expanded themselves in new segments of washing powder and soap cakes.

Sanan tea Products Company is basically a packaging unit. Before packaging, an initial process of selecting the premium tea estates from Assam belt and Darjeeling, where today’s tea which we use in our homes, finds its origin, is carried out to get the best tea leaves. After the selection of fine tea leaves a process called blending is done. Blending means mixing tea leaves of different grades and quality to develop a particular taste. The expert, who reviews the tasting session, Mr. Om Upadhyay and his team, is associated with the group for the last 33 years. The tasting session involves sampling and tasting of more than 600 cups of tea per day. Currently, they have three types of tea: Kadak – The basic one, Elaichi- The flavored one, and Chhota chhamach- The premium segment. ‘Taste Consistency is what gives their product a deserved reach amongst their consumers.’

The company has developed a work culture that promotes trust and confidence which makes its employees and dealers stay with them for more than 20 years. Also, this was the first company in Indore giving their retailers an opportunity to get their passports ready and travel abroad for leisure on achieving targets assigned by the company, thereby growing their business and contributing to the economy.

This created and maintained a curiosity amongst them to wait for the new scheme launched by the company, a game-changer crucial strategy. Maintaining the tradition of gifting articles and other things for recognizing the growth they got, they took care of retailers, dealers, and employees. They embarked on a journey keeping all the sources intact and walked together in long run to label it as a success.
