No. We are not preaching you any ethics or morals or want to be your teacher this Diwali. Nor we are saying something that will make you go – Bleh! Who cares! All we are indicating to some points that we just want you to compare and then take a decision by yourself, that why lighting less crackers might be the right way to welcome Diwali this year.
Take A Stroll At Your Nearest “Basti’
Before you go out and lavishly spend some 5000-10000 rupees on fancy crackers, just go to your nearby “Basti’ and see that there are families that don’t even have money to buy even 100 grams of sweets for the festival. So even if you get a “Mithaai’ that’s like 250 rupees a Kg, you could very well distribute around 25 packets of sweets to the people who really need some “Happiness’ in their life for the price of an average Joe spending on crackers.
Why Not Spend It On Yourself?
Always wanted to buy the special dress you always desired? Are there specific pair of boots you fancy or want to get nice headphones for your mobile phone? Well, if you are gonna add up the money you are gonna get as a gift this Diwali from your parents and relatives and will add up the money you will be literally wasting on crackers; you could very well get yourself a really nice gift.
Don’t forget your Mom and Dad
Many of us, and I really mean it, tend to ignore the most important people in our lives – Mom and Dad; thanks to the hectic schedule and day to day battles. Do you really feel your mom would jump with joy with a nice Saree or your Dad would love to have a new wrist watch in his hand? Why not save that money you have planned to spend on crackers, add up a little more from your savings and gift your parents something?!
Don’t Just Boycott Chinese Products;
Use Your Own Brains Too!
Don’t go in the market and take another pack of crackers that says – Made in India and feel proud. You would still be polluting your own land. Do not only boycott Chinese products if you feel so patriotic, but boycott everything that is gonna make your mother land more polluted. Do you remember the polluted streets and the gunpowder smell the air has for the next 1-2 days after Diwali from last year? Why not boycott something that caused that pollution?!
Team Indore HD is not against the traditions; we are just against anything that is going to make our city, our Indore more polluted. Not to mention by doing so, you will be saving the lives of lot of birds and small animals in the process, who die every year because of this excess pollution. It is our humble request to save this city this Diwali from getting more polluted and we urge you to just light up earthen lamps and celebrate Diwali.
