The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, or CSIRO and the National Science Agency of Australia, also found that the virus could remain active longer on paper notes than on plastic currency. The study is published in the science journal Virology.

According to CSIRO chief executive, Larry Marshall, “Knowing how long the coronavirus can remain active on the surface helps us prevent its spread.”
The effect of corona decreases at 30–40 degrees
Corona specimens from an infected person were placed on different surfaces and left for about a month. Subsequently, the duration of the coronavirus stay was assessed.
