Azim Premji
Along with Wipro Limited, Wipro Enterprise Limited and the Azim Premji Foundation, the chairman of Wipro Limited, Azim Premji have pledged Rs 1,125 crore to fight this unprecedented pandemic.
Akshay Kumar
When the Prime minister made an announcement of PM- CARES Fund, Akshay Kumar was the first one to contribute to the cause and made a whooping contribution of Rs 25 crores. In a tweet mentioned by author and columnist Twinkle Khanna, she said how proud she was of her husband and that how Akshay didn’t think twice before making this contribution.
Salman Khan
Salman Khan has always been known for his big heart. During this pandemic, he didn’t shy away from making his contribution. He pledged to financially support 25,000 daily wage workers from the film industry. Salman’s Being Human Foundation will take care of these workers.
SRK
SRK’s various companies – Kolkata Knight Riders, Red Chillies Entertainment, Meer Foundation and Red Chillies VFX – have pledged to provide support in these testing times. Through their IPL franchise, SRK along with wife Gauri and business partners Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta will be contributing to the PM-CARES Fund.
In addition to this, Shah Rukh and Gauri will also make a donation to the Maharashtra CM’s Relief Fund. Khan’s NGO, Meer Foundation, will supply 50,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Maharashtra and West Bengal governments for healthcare professionals.
Furthermore, Meer Foundation has also tied up with Ek Saath – The Earth organization to provide food to over 5500 families for a month in Mumbai. Around 3 lakh meal kits will be provided to 10,000 underprivileged people and daily wage labourers daily in Mumbai. Other than this, SRK’s Foundation will also work with Working People’s Charter to provide essentials to over 2500 daily wage workers in Delhi for a month.
Mukesh Ambani
Mukesh Ambani has always led by example and this time as well, he didn’t fail the country. Reliance Industry announced that they are enhancing production capacities in order to manufacture 100,000 face masks on a daily basis. Initial support of Rs 5 crore has been given to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as well. In addition to this, a dedicated 100-bed centre at Seven Hills Hospital has been set up by the Reliance Foundation for patients who test positive for COVID- 19.
Priyanka and Nick Jonas
Priyanka Chopra, along with Nick Jonas donated an undisclosed amount to 10 charities including Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES), UNICEF, Goonj, Doctors Without Borders, No Kid Hungry, and SAG- AFTRA.
Ratan Tata
Every time nation was in the need, Tata Trusts and Tata group companies came forth for the rescue. Ratan Tata always rose to the needs of the nation. And, during this time, when the need is greater than ever, Ratan Tata announced to pledge Rs 1500 crore to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
Katrina Kaif
In order to mitigate the suffering and hardship of the people, Katrina Kaif donated an undisclosed amount to PM CARES FUND and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Varun Dhawan
In order to fight the pandemic, Varun Dhawan also pledged Rs 30 lakhs to the PM CARES FUND and Rs 25 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
