    A lot of anger, opinions have poured into the matter of whether exams should be conducted or not. People took over social media and expressed their dissent with the hashtag – #PostponeJEEandNEETexams 

    The NEET 2020 exam has been scheduled to be held on September 13 while the JEE Main 2020 will be conducted from September 1 to 6.

    Almost a week back, the Supreme Court dismissed petition to postpone the JEE Main and NEET UG entrance exams as a result of which the exams are to be held on 1st to 6th and September 13 respectively in which around 25 lakh students are expected to appear. However, students and parents are demanding not to conduct the exams as they believe it can pose a risk to their health amidst the pandemic which has befallen on the world.

    Various politicians have come out in the support of students. From Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi to Mamata Banerjee and Uddhav Thackeray, they intend to approach India’s top court again in order to postpone the exams.

    However, the other group who doesn’t agree with any further postponement of the exams are questioning as to how long will the exams not take place.

    In addition to this, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has assured all precautionary measures to be exercised to protect students during the conduct of the exams. 

    1. As per the guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA), a self -declaration form is to be carried by the aspirant stating that they do not have any symptoms associated with COVID-19, have not come in contact with anyone who has tested positive for the virus or had any symptom in the recent past.
    2. Admit cards will issued alongside the time slots. The exam will start on the same time for all the students but they will be divided in the groups so that overcrowding can be avoided. 
    3. In case of high body temperature, the student will be taken to a separate room and if the temperature doesn’t come down after sometime, the student will give test in an isolation room. 
    4. Students are allowed to carry a transparent water bottle, and a 50 ml mask sanitiser and will have to maintain a six-feet distance while entering the hall. They will also be given a fresh three-ply mask before entering and will have to discard the old ones.
    5. Students will have to exit in an orderly manner and will only be allowed one by one.
