Walmart India Pvt. Ltd, the local arm of the world’s largest retailer, is set to lengthen its arm in India, with its store network in the country. With a target to open around 30 new stores in the country in the next three years, the popular shopping giant is set to make its presence count in Indore!
For a long time now, residents of Indore have been dreaming of a Walmart store in their city and after a long wait, their dream has come true, for Indore has finally got a Walmart Best Price store. Now, Indoris, too can shop till they drop in this township sized market that is Walmart Best Price.
These Walmart stores are especially beneficial to homeowners, retailers and those that buy goods in large quantities. The Walmart Best Price store- or Cash and Carry store in Indore will be the 25th outlet in India and the fourth one in Madhya Pradesh.

Apart from just bringing convenience to residents of the city, the outlet will also generate over 2,000 jobs.
This development comes as the newest feather in Indore’s cap and marks the city a truly fast developing town. A few of the benefits of the newly launched Walmart store is that buyers can purchase goods in bulk and for a lower price than they would ordinarily pay. Already residents of other towns are benefiting from this and Indoris can also make the best out of it very soon.

Talking to a popular newspaper in the city, President and CEO of Walmart India, Krish Iyer stated, “We are at an exciting juncture of our journey in India as we complete a decade of operations in the country, delighting over one million members, largely kiranas, and contributing to the local and national economies.” In addition to that, he added “Today as we unveil our 25th Cash & Carry Store in the country, I would like to thank all our members, partners, associates and stakeholders for their overwhelming support & contribution to the success of our business.” Surely, this Walmart store will be a huge hit in Indore. Since the store has pretty much everything that one would need to run the average household and at a lower price, it will surely be a huge hit in the city.

Since it has a massive area, the personnel required to manage it will be very high and thereby generate more jobs. Apart from that, the company will also need employees to manage different departments and help buyers navigate their way through the massive store.

Opening the store, company president Krish Iyer said ‘they are quite satisfied with the business progress so far.’
He also said the company is working on course to open stores in Warangal and Nizamabad in Telangana and Kurnool and Tirupati in Andhra by the end of this fiscal. It is present in nine states now. He said each store needs Rs 50-60 crore investments and generates 2,000 direct and indirect jobs.
According to reports, Walmart India is set to open 30 stores in next 3 years, it plans on adding 5-7 stores in the next year even as it begins “piloting ‘dark stores’ or fulfilment centres for retailers, stockists and kirana stores buying from it”, as quoted by a popular source.
