Not to mention, it reduces your carbon footprint to a good extent.

Planting a million trees across the city will not only make it greener, but also improve the weather conditions, air quality and help create a sustainable environment. Carbon Footprint
Carbon footprint is referred to the amount of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere by the direct and indirect activities of an individual, organization, or community.
Every individual contributes to carbon emissions unknowingly by his/her daily habits like driving vehicles, cooking, purchasing items, etc. Hence, it is each individual’s responsibility to reduce the carbon emission at their end, after all, each of us is responsible for the state of the environment that exists today. Carbon footprint can be reduced considerably if we take careful steps and implement better ways to lead our life. The first step towards decreasing it is by planting trees around us,
Once all citizens come together through this campaign, we’ll be able to make a considerable difference in Indore’s climate.

Man Behind The Movement
Plant A Million Trees Campaign was inspired by Mr. Afaq Giri, IRS, Assistant Commissioner, Indore (Customs, Central Excise & Narcotics). He was selected as a member of an International group of 80 environmentalists and climate change experts lead by Robert Swan, who went to Antarctica in March 2018.
This carbon neutral journey marked the beginning of the mission to reduce 326 million tonnes of CO2 out of the atmosphere before 2025.

IndoreHD has taken this step to motivate every individual to plant trees at their home, workplace, institution and nearby parks and gardens. Together, we can make Indore a city where the citizens work along with the government and local authorities to conserve and create a sustainable environment!
