No one in their wildest dreams must have thought that COVID-19 will hit the world let alone in a manner that people will be succumbed to stay indoors for such a long period of time. And, as per the experts, the situation which people now call as ‘New Normal’ will stay for a long period of time and hence, it is the need of the hour to follow all the precautions and guidelines pertaining to safety, hygiene and social distancing to keep the virus at bay.
As a part of the Unlock version, travel has been resumed and in the lieu of the same, inter-city bus services have also been resumed gradually. However, moving forward, one will have to cater to the new ways of traveling via bus.
Given the situation that travelling is inevitable for majority of the people, some guidelines have been issued which needs to be followed diligently as it will help check the spread of infection.
It is the responsibility of each and every person in the bus travel ecosystem to follow the safety guidelines and work together to make bus travel safe for everyone.
Let’s have a look at Dos and Don’ts while travel by Bus :-
Dos
• One should opt for booking bus tickets online to avoid unnecessary contact.
• One should always carry their own face masks and hand sanitizers.
• Prior to any trip, ensure your temperature is normal.
• When you are inside the bus, always wear your masks.
• Ensure that you sanitize your hands regularly, especially before entering a bus and after exiting.
• Use tissues while sneezing and coughing. And, in case you run out of tissues, sneeze or cough into the upper sleeve.
• Carry your own linen, blankets and water bottles.
• Download Aarogya Setu app without fail.
• Be up to date on guidelines issued by the state you are traveling from and to.
Don’ts
• In case of feeling unwell, do not travel.
• Avoid touching your face, nose and mouth often.
• Whilst inside the bus, do not take off your mask unless necessary.
• Avoid touching grab rails, switches, knobs, headrests, armrests as much as possible.
• Do not discard tissues/disposable masks/gloves or any other protective gear inside the bus.
In order to fight COVID-19, it is imperative that we inculcate responsible behaviour amongst passengers. A little discipline amalgamated with responsible behaviour can make a huge difference in the fight with Coronavirus and make things Normal as they should be.
