The central government has announced the third phase of vaccination for those aged 18 years and above from May 1 but as there is no BJP government in Rajasthan, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Kerala, the vaccination will be delayed. The states stated that vaccine manufacturers have made it clear that they can negotiate future orders only after fulfilling their commitment with the central government.
Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma stated that “The Serum Institute told us that by May 15, they may not be able to fulfill the earlier orders of the Central Government”.
It was further stated that the process of the orders given by the state governments for the vaccine will be started only after May 15 and can they give vaccines to all people above the age of 19 years when there are no vaccines.
TS Singh Dev, Chhattisgarh Health Minister, accused the Modi government of joking with all the people. He stated that the central government is misleading the people and is trying to divert people’s anger towards the state governments.
