To be at par with fellow competitors in the cutthroat telecom sector, Airtel, Jio and Vodafone-Idea keep refreshing their current tariff plans, whilst introducing new ones and letting go of old ones. Here we will be taking a look at all new developments that took in the prepaid telecom sector from the launch of new plans or scrapping of older ones, recently.
Airtel’s Rs 2398 plan

About the plan-
Airtel’s Rs 2,398 long term prepaid plan came with a validity of 365 days. Under the plan, the company offered 1.5GB of daily data, 100 daily SMSes and unlimited voice calling benefits. The plan is now no more available on the company’s official website or on any other third party recharge websites.
Current Offering– The company is still offering a better Rs 2,498 plan that comes with the same benefits, but instead of 1.5GB of daily high speed data, it comes with 2GB of daily data.
Free Data Coupons
Update- Free Data Coupons launched by Airtel
About the plan-
Airtel recently launched new ‘Free Data Coupons’, which one can get via the Airtel Thanks app. These data vouchers will be given to users for pre-selected prepaid plans. These plans include Rs 219, Rs 249, Rs 279, Rs 298, Rs 349 and Rs 398, which get two GB vouchers of 1GB for 28 days. The Rs 399, Rs 449 and Rs 558 prepaid plans get four vouchers of 1GB for 56 days. Lastly, the Rs 598 and Rs 698 plans get six coupons of 1GB data for 84 days.
Zee5 Benefits with Airtel
Update– Removal of Zee5 benefit from plans
About the plan-
Airtel in partnership with Zee5 was providing its users with a complimentary subscription with most of its prepaid plans. The company has now cut back and removed the benefit from mostly all of its plans leaving the Rs 289 plan. All of these plans still offer all other benefits they had listed earlier.
Vodafone launches a new Rs 819 plan
About the plan-
Under the new Rs 819 prepaid plan, 2GB of daily high speed data, 100 SMSes per day and unlimited calling benefits is being provided. The plan offers a validity of 84 days. This plan is bundled with a complimentary Zee5 and Vodafone Play subscription. This plan is currently available only in the Delhi circle.
ISD and IR prepaid plans revised by Jio
About the plan-
Jio has revised its ISD and International Roaming prepaid plans. The revised Rs 501 now comes with a validity of 28 days offering talktime of Rs 424.58. Earlier, the plan offered talktime of Rs 551 in the same pack. Under this plan, users can call up 230 countries.
Current offering-
The revised IR packs of Rs 1,101 and Rs 1,201, with which users now get a talk time of 933.05 and Rs 1,017.80, respectively. Under the IR packs, users can visit 170 countries.
