CM Shivraj Singh Clears Air About Migrant Workers Paying for Travel

In a video conference with collectors, Madhya Pradesh chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked the collectors to ensure that no labourer has to pay for his ride home. The decision came in the wake of CM learning about the train fare charged at Nashik. Hence, without any further ado, he announced that no MP migrant returning home will have to pay train fare.

Chouhan urged migrants to dial the toll-free helpline 0755-2411180 to have their queries answered and know how to return home. The Madhya Pradesh government has written to the railways for 31 trains to bring all its migrants back. The CM cited- “Lockdown 3.0 will be a lockdown with a difference.” He explained that there is a need to change our lifestyle and learn to live with corona, as there is no medicine for the virus yet.

CM Chouhan praised PM Narendra Modi for taking adequate steps to control Corona, and appealed to people “not to see corona infected people with hatred”. He further requested people to be alert as even a little carelessness will worsen things. During a video conference with collectors, he took serious note of the Covid mortality rate in Ujjain and ordered a special team of doctors to be sent there.

Ordering strict surveillance, he said people from other states will not be allowed to come to MP without proper permission in the lockdown.
