After the first two-quarters of Swachh Survekshan, 2020 on its, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is buckling up for additional 1000 marks under the survey. IMC officials are now eyeing on 7-star garbage-free rating.
With leaving no stone unturned to maintain the city’s cleanest image, IMC officials are now eyeing a 7-star garbage-free rating. They have intensified cleanliness and monitoring work to ensure everything in place during physical verification for 7-star garbage-free rating. The civic body has already submitted initial self-declaration for 7-star garbage-free rating and the final submission of documents is also over.
A team from the Centre is likely to visit the city soon to verify claims of IMC for necessary criteria under the star rating protocol. The visit would be 8 to 10 days long and separate teams would be conducting the survey.
As a part of the survey, the team will be visiting random locations including residential and commercial areas and public gardens to check for collection, disposal, composting of wet waste and bulk or community composting among others. The team will collect over 50 pictorial evidence from each ward of the city to verify the claims made by IMC.
Furthermore, the team would also check for potholes and damages on major roads and streets inwards since they are also important criteria under the survey.
Cabinet minister Jitu Patwari and IMC commissioner Asheesh Singh along with other senior officials of IMC visited residential localities recently.
IMC wants people to join hands with them in their cleanliness campaigns. They are also running awareness drives to make citizens feel that they are also a part of the initiative and urge them to keep the city clean on their personal level. Road sweeping and cleaning activities even during night hours have also been increased.
IMC is expecting to secure 500 marks under ODF++ and Water Plus certifications of which validation work recently got over.
Seems like the Indore Municipal Corporation is really going the extra mile to register Indore in one of the best residential cities in the country! Kudos to their work ethic!
