The time has come when Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has geared up for the main survey of the Swachh Survekshan (SS) League 2020. This comes at a time when a 15-member team from Centre continues with physical verification work for the seven-star protocol under the Garbage Free Cities (GFC) component of the survey.
For direct observation, a team from the Centre is expected to visit the city. The survey will continue for three to four days and in order to make the most of it, Corporation officials are leaving no stone unturned to maintain the necessary criteria of the main survey.
Direct observation will be conducted on different indicators and assessors will not interact with anyone. Instead, real-time pictures of randomly selected locations will be clicked from head office to check for cleanliness of residential and commercial areas, condition of toilets, airport, bus stand, railway stations and share their personal observations on the same.
The team would also check for beautification work, encroachment on stormwater drains and water bodies, measures taken up by corporations to reduce the level of dust in the air, visible beautification in slum and others.
As far as the markings are concerned, the direct observation holds 1500 marks out of 6000 marks under SS League 2020 and each of the indicators contains marks between 100 and 270. In order to achieve desired markings, the officials have also intensified cleaning and sweeping activities across the city.
The officials have all arrangements and measures in place to meet the necessary criteria of the survey. The main survey would begin any given day and there would not be any communication with them to maintain complete secrecy during the course of the survey. This has forced the officials to ensure that all measures and standards are in place.
IMC is working towards retaining the ODF++ tag for Survekshan 2020. Read to know more, here
