Malwa Utsav is the biggest fest in Indore where you are going to witness everything in spectacular awe. This year, the festival is from 5th to 10th of May, 2017 and is expected to attract at least million people. The festival has different themes planned for the entire event and everyday you will get a chance to witness performances, shopping and various other things based on that particular theme for the day. For crafts lovers, they will have an opportunity to see the works in Black Pottery, Bamboo Work, Cane Work, Dry Flower etc. Crafts from Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh will be on display, along with various other interesting items.
For people looking forward to buy clothing, they will have chance to grab Chanderi, Lion Print, Jaipur and Jodhpur’s Rajasthani print, Kashmiri Shawl, Chicken Work of Lucknow, Bhagalpuri and Kausa Silk. People will also have a chance to witness how the Maheshwari Silk Saarees are made, at the Malwa Utsav. There will be live leather toy workshops in the fest as well.
Bamboo artists of Chhattisgarh will also be exclusively displaying their work in the festival and bangles workers from Jaipur will showcase their entire collection in Malwa Utsav as well. You will also have a chance to see live bangle making which you can also buy once they are made, right in front of your eyes! There will be total of 20 sculptures who will be giving live demo at the festival.
