What to do when you are in Indore for a day!

Indore is a Dynamic city, has so many interesting things to do. To mention all the things can be easy but to do or explore all those things in a day is little tough. This city is heaven for those who are inquisitive to try new cuisines. Surely the food is the best part of Indore, but the city has lots more to keep you busy through the day. If you are a traveller or a resident of the city and want to plan a day out in Indore we have curated a small flow chart, to make your trip an unforgettable experience.

Hiring a cab for a day would be a better option, it won’t be much expensive on your pocket as Indore is a relatively small city. There you go with the following things that you can do when you are here for a single day :  

SIGHTSEEING/ Eye candy

• Khajrana Ganesh Mandir:

You can start your journey by visiting Khajrana Ganesh mandir, Depends on which area you are in. It’s a century old temple of lord Ganesha, the idol here is self-established. In the premises, you will find other temples as well. It will not take more than an hour time to completely explore the place.

• A Walk to remember “Rajwada”:

If you want to explore more about the history of the city you must visit Rajwada, It’s a palace king of the Holkar dynasty had constructed for their residential purpose. • Krishanpura Chattries:

Krishanpura chattries  can be the next destination of your list, it is located near Rajwada palace.

• Religious trip:

If you have a whole day and want to spend with family you can take a religious ride to Ujjain, a “city of Temples”, or to Omkareshwar or Dewas making your trip a blissful trip for you. The trip can be done in 5 to 6 hours (via personal cab).

• Waterfalls:

If you are in a mood of a picnic, then you have lot many choices from waterfalls to trekking tracks. Tincha fall, Patalpani, Sitlamata  fall, Choral, Mohadi Fall are few names which are worth to visit. Chokhi Dhani and Nakhrali Dhani can also be an option if you want a check out Rajasthani extravaganza.

As soon as anybody enters into the city by any mode, via train, bus or plane, it is difficult for anyone to escape from aroma of food. The famous saying about Indore is “If you are surrounded by large pans full of poha and hot golden jalebis that means you have reached Indore”. If we talk about Indore’s street food it is difficult to try all in a single day, try to taste as much as possible. We can say the food walk of Indore begins at any point of the city, but the most special once that one must visit in his/her trip are

• Chappan:

“The street of food”, and Indori’s consider it like a religious place as well. It is located in the central part of the city; hardly any food item of Indore is missed from the place. You have a little hunger or bigger one you will find solution for all. Don’t forget to try the Pani puri, Sabudana khichdi, Johney hot dog and patis.

• Sarafa:

If you are here for little long, till mid night then Sarafa Street is Inevitable. Don’t get confused with the name, here in a day time you will find a bustling jewellery market, but in the evening as soon as the goldsmiths shut their doors the market turns into a paradise for food lovers. Don’t forget to try the Dahi Vada, it’s too delicious.

• All-time favorite:

Road side shops at each knock of the city have its own charm, you can try them as well.

How to forget the umpteen flavour of paan, try a Mukhwas of your preference be it chocolate or plain.

You can also spend your day in shopping as well, Indore being a commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh has lots to offer to its visitors.

If you are keen to buy the specialty of the city that is Handloom, then you must visit MT clothe Market. Visiting this market can be a treat for you as you will get the clothing in wholesale at reasonable prices. It is one of the biggest markets of central Indian, from here the materials are exported throughout the country.

• Here you will find a particular market for your particular search if you are looking for electronics MTH compound a dedicated market for electronics and so on.
