Indore’s Metro Project will Have Minimum Impact On Private Land. Read how?

The metro rail project in Indore aims to ensure maximum utilization of government land so that there is a minimum acquisition of private property.

To ensure that the citizens don’t have to go through the inconvenience, Urban development and housing administration principal secretary Sanjay Dubey said that the project has been designed in a manner that it doesn’t exploit private land and the track was being planned in a manner that it would minimize rehabilitation and resettlement related requirements.

After inspecting the 31.4km ring route of the project, the authorities said that need to complete all project-related alignments before a final go-ahead. Whilst addressing the media persons, he said that out of 31.4km ring route, Indore metro will have a 25.5km elevated and ground section, and a 5.9km underground stretch and since underground construction work brings a lot of challenges with it because this increases expenditure with fire safety, ventilation, and maintenance related requirements, the entire project plan, including location of stations, has been made with a view to providing multi-model connectivity option for citizens.

The project is already under process, with construction work between Chandragupta Square and Bapat Square already begun, and digging work from Vijay Nagar to Radisson Square is also on.
