Most of us might not have heard about the man named Ratnesh Pandey, and this might come as surprise for you that he not only reached at the top of the Mount Everest, but made it all more interesting by singing our National Anthem there.
Hailing from Satna, Ratnesh Pandey did his MBA from Indore and then enrolled himself in Indian Mountaineering Institute. Ratnesh completed this adventurous journey on May 21 2016 and was one of the total 10 members who reached the top of the summit.
“If you dream about something and really aspire to go for it, then you will have all the push and the motivation you need by the almighty and he will help you to go for it.” This is what Ratnesh reminds us of and fills us with pride after we watch the video he uploaded, singing our Prestigious National Anthem from the highest peak of the world. This also claims him the first man in the world who has sung the national anthem of the country to which he belongs, at the highest peak.
It’s no wonder that Ratnesh encountered real bad weather at the top with temperature going to minus 40 degrees. Mount Everest is one treacherous terrain and many times the expeditions are cancelled due to very bad weather conditions up top. Despite all the dangers involved and extremely unpredictable conditions, Ratnesh fought it all and completed the journey on May 21st at 6.30 am in the morning, when he put the peace flag at the top.
This was not the first time when Ratnesh scaled the peak. It was the second time he did it for the record. When the first time he tried it, he was able to reach at about 22000 feet but he had to cancel the rest of the journey due to earthquake in Nepal which caused avalanche on Everest, making it impossible to reach the top. This year, the weather conditions were favorable and when he finally reached up top, he said singing National Anthem not only calmed him down and gave him peace, but also gave him all the boost he needed to take adventurous journey back.
Taking the journey to the Mount Everest was not easy and Ratnesh underwent a very tough practice sessions of more than three months. The sessions included vigorous training like running for 10 kms, 40 kms of cycling, half an hour of swimming followed by 30 mins of Yoga each day.
The total cost of the journey was close to over 30 lakhs and Ratnesh arranged the funds by taking loans. The government has ensured Ratnesh that they will be helping him to right off loans. We thank Ratnesh for making India proud this year on Independence Day.
