The redevelopment work of the 56 Dukan area is likely to be finished in 56 days as the civic body has fixed the deadline to complete the work. If everything goes as per the plan, Indore will get its first Smart Food Street in 56 days.
In order to achieve the deadline and its goal, vehicular movement in the area has also been restricted. The agency which is engaged in the project too has started the groundwork.
The countdown to make 56 Dukan a Smart Food Street started on Wednesday. To make this countdown public, a digital screen has also been installed in the area to display a number of days left for the completion of this project.
The agency has been instructed to complete the project within the given time limit. It has been proposed to be carried out in a time-bound manner.
On January 3, IMC had announced to re-develop the 56-Dukaan area as ‘Smart Food Street’ with façade development of all shops, LED lightings, designer pavement space, plantation, and greenery. The cost of the entire project is estimated to be 4 crores.
Officials engaged in the work said that they were going to start with removal of paver blocks of 56-Dukaan street starting from MG Road to Chandni Chowk for installation of underground utilities such as electric cables, drainage, and water supply lines, and then come reinforced concrete (RC) work on the stretch measuring around 41000 sq ft.
In order to smoothen the process, there will be a complete restriction on entry of vehicles in the area from Wednesday night and at the same time, pedestrians movement will be regulated as per the need of development
